HPV Vaccine to be Offered to Teenage Boys in School

Boys who are in their first year of secondary school in Ireland are to be offered the HPV vaccine for the first time after the scheme was extended following recommendations by HIQA. Girls who are in their first year of secondary school have been offered a form of the vaccine since 2010; the vaccination protects against four types of human papillomavirus.
